Pamela Cole presented a teacher informational session to the Susquehanna Township School District, sponsored by PACT

PACT regularly provides community give-backs to its community partners. Recently, PACT directors received a request from the Susquehanna Township School District. In response, on October 1st, Dr. Pamela Cole presented an informational session on Nepali Peoples to over 40 teachers and administrative staff at Susquehanna Township School District. The district has recently had an increase of Nepali students in their classrooms. The presentation described the history of Bhutanese Nepalis and reasons for their increased immigration to the United States. Nepali cultural diversity, traditional customs, and barriers immigrants face were also described. The talk was well-received. PACT community give-backs are ways that our Penn State researchers can help our community partners with things like trainings, workshops and informational sessions.
