We are pleased to welcome Martha Wadsworth as a new faculty affiliate here at the Child Study Center!
Martha is an Associate Professor in the Child Clinical area of the Psychology Department. She received her Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from the University of Vermont in 2001 and completed her APA internship at the University of Washington. Martha was in the Child Clinical Program at the University of Denver as an Assistant Professor of Psychology from 2001-2008 and as an Associate Professor from 2008-2012.
Martha conducts both basic and intervention research on how children and families adapt to toxic levels of stress created by life in poverty. In addition to understanding benefits and limits of various forms of effortful coping, Martha’s work focuses on understanding how best to intervene to promote health and wellness and prevent physical and mental health problems in children raised in poverty. She recently completed a large randomized control intervention project in Denver and is currently building relationships with nearby communities in preparation for testing her interventions in more rural service areas. Please join us in welcoming her to the CSC!
