The College of the Liberal Arts Staff Excellence Award provides recognition to employees who consistently demonstrate a high level of dedication and commitment to the unit and College. The employee has a positive and influential impact on the work environment, displays professionalism and initiative, and fosters cooperation and collaboration among peers and supervisors while carrying out their daily job responsibilities.
Shannon was nominated for this award by Dr. Kristin Buss, Psychology Department Head, Professor of Psychology and Human Development and Family Studies, with support from Dr. Laureen Teti, Associate Research Professor of Psychology and Associate Director of the Child Study Center. Shannon helps to manage a complicated grants portfolio as part of her role with the Child Study Center. Many of the grants require multiple contracts, including foreign subcontracts, from multiple federal and private funding agencies and foundations. Shannon often works directly with the grants offices of the other universities, which typically results in a great deal of praise from faculty, staff, and administrators at those universities. In all cases, the praise includes remarks about her skills as a team player and her extremely high level of professionalism and efficiency. Shannon is greatly respected and appreciated by everyone at the Child Study Center, as well as many members of the Psychology Department.
Congratulations, Shannon!
