The CSC would like to offer sincere condolences to the family of Robert ‘Bob’ G. Faris

The CSC would like to offer sincere condolences to the family of Robert ‘Bob’ G. Faris, who passed away August 21, 2017. Bob was a Penn State alumnus and remained dedicated to his alma mater throughout his life. He was a pioneer in the global private equity and venture capital industries, focusing on the Eastern European market. He and his wife, Ruth, generously established an endowment in the College of the Liberal Arts, The Robert and Ruth Faris Child Psychology Fund, in support of activities related to the study of child psychology and the promotion of child development and well-being. This fund created invaluable opportunities for many graduate and undergraduate students working at the CSC, providing research and travel support that deepened their understanding and fueled their passion for child studies. The fund has also supported the CSC Speaker Series, bringing national and internationally-known scholars to Penn State to share their knowledge and insight with students and faculty. The Faris Graduate Centennial Endowment, which is housed in the College of the Liberal Arts, also provides funds for Child Study Center graduate students at the Faris’ request.  The CSC will always be grateful for his benevolence and inspiring dedication to children and families everywhere. His obituary can be viewed here.

White peace lily.
