The CSC Welcomes Ginger Moore to Penn State

We’re happy to extend a warm welcome to Ginger Moore, the newest addition to the child clinical faculty in the Department of Psychology. Ginger received her Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from the University of Pittsburgh in 2000, and comes to us now from Duke University, while continuing to hold a position as research assistant professor at the Center for Developmental Science in Chapel Hill, North Carolina.

Dr. Moore’s primary research interests include infant emotion development in high-risk contexts, including parental psychopathology, family conflict and violence, and maternal incarceration.  Her recent research examines infants’ development of normal and abnormal patterns of physiological and behavioral regulation in response to high-conflict and violent environments, mechanisms that explain risk and resilience in the face of these environments, and emotion-focused interventions to promote optimal emotion development and regulation within families.  Clinically, Dr. Moore’s interests have focused on interventions for parents and infants at risk, work with children exposed to trauma and violence in the home or community, and emotion-focused interventions.  Dr. Moore is currently teaching a graduate course on clinical interventions; next academic year her graduate courses include emotion and psychopathology, child psychopathology, exceptional child, and child clinical interventions.
