The training will briefly introduce clinicians to the impact of childhood trauma and the history, development, and research supporting the efficacy of Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT). The training will focus on introducing clinicians to the PRACTICE components of TF-CBT that are used to effectively assist children, teens, and parents impacted by childhood trauma. This overview workshop is designed to give participants “a taste” of TF-CBT” to enhance their understanding of the potential benefits of early effective interventions for children, adolescents and nonoffending caregivers impacted by trauma. Case examples, role plays, creative interventions and the importance of clinician self-care will be highlighted.
