The Pathways to Competence research initiative celebrated another year of success

The Pathways to Competence faculty research initiative celebrated another banner year of success in securing federal funding for their research.  They celebrated the recent new NIH awards to Kristin Buss, Rick Gilmore, Kathleen Keller, Suzy Scherf, Martha Wadsworth, and Jennifer Savage Williams.  Those awards focus on different developmental pathways toward children’s health and risk, including the development of toddlers and preschool age children (intersection of play, language, and socio-emotional development, risk for anxiety problems, risk for obesity), of school age children (food portions and over-eating risk, coping with poverty), and adolescence (changes in processing social information during puberty).
