The CSC Welcomes Cynthia Huang-Pollock to Penn State

Cynthia Huang-Pollock is the newest addition to the child clinical faculty in the psychology department. Cynthia received her Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from Michigan State University in 2003 and completed a post-doctoral fellowship at the University of California at San Francisco.

Dr. Huang-Pollock’s primary research interest is to identify patterns of cognitive and neuropsychological deficits in children with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD). In particular, Cynthia uses neurocognitive paradigms of attention and other regulatory control processes to illuminate the etiology and mechanisms contributing to the learning and behavioral problems often observed in children with extreme inattention and activity level. Through this work, she hopes to improve the current DSM-IV taxonomy of ADHD, and ultimately to develop a more discerning diagnostic process. Clinically, Dr. Huang-Pollock’s interests have focused on neuropsychological assessment and child/family therapy. This fall, Dr. Huang-Pollock will be teaching a practicum in child neuropsychological assessment, and will also be the instructor for a graduate level child assessment course in the Spring.

Welcome Cynthia!
