First Annual Central PA Workshop on Evidence-Based Mental Health Services

First Annual Central PA Workshop on Evidence-Based Mental Health Services

The purpose of this workshop is to prepare participants to use motivational interviewing (MI) strategies that foster teacher, parent, and student engagement in school-based services. This includes any professional working on school-based support teams where parent, student, or staff involvement is required for success. The goal is to provide a useful model for consultation that will lead to increased use of effective practices in schools. As a result of the workshop, participants will have new skills for enhancing the motivation and engagement of teachers, parents, and students and also for building team cohesion and commitment in supporting these practices. The workshop will include case examples, video examples, modeling, and role-plays to achieve learning outcomes.
