Koraly Perez-Edgar awarded 2017-2018 James McKeen Cattell Fund Fellowship

Dr. Koraly Perez-Edgar has been awarded a James McKeen Cattell Fund Fellowship for the 2017-2018 academic year. The Cattell Fellowship is a highly competitive national award presented by the Association for Psychological Science. Established in 1942, the yearly awards allow the faculty recipient to take an extended sabbatical for the purpose of pursuing new research.

As principal investigator of the Cognition, Affect, and Temperament lab, Koraly’s research focuses on the interaction between temperament, early appearing biases in emotion, and attention in children and adults. Her work uses multiple methods for data collection including, psychophysiological, observational, and questionnaires, and she would like to analyze the data in unique ways. Koraly plans to devote her sabbatical time to learning new, up-to-the-minute methods for statistical analysis so she can apply this knowledge to her research. She will be auditing research methods courses, attending methodological workshops, and will spend part of the time analyzing data with research collaborators at the University of Sussex in England.

Koraly came to the CSC in 2011 from a faculty position at George Mason University. Prior to that, she had a post-doctoral fellowship with Nathan Fox at the University of Maryland and received her Ph.D. from Harvard University, where she worked with Dr. Jerome Kagan.

Congratulations, Koraly!
